Eternal Monologue, The Silence We Hear & The Story (Part One)
It is not freedom from something but the freedom to do something that determines the direction; that is, it’s not the avoidance of tonality, consonance, meter and everything else likely to awaken associations with the past, but the unlimited possibilities of choice. The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Creativity is seeing something that doesn’t exist already. You need to find out how you can bring it into being and in that way be a playmate with God.

There is a spirit in all music. The spirit has the ability to conjure up thoughts, even pictures, of something that happened or you wished would happen or you anticipate happening. Music has the ability to create ideas in you and me. It has the ability to encourage us to be creative.

From the Lakota People: “Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect. Remain close to the Great Spirit. Show great respect for your fellow beings. Work together for the benefit of all Mankind. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed. Be truthful and honest at all times. Take full responsibility for your actions.”

Music has power, so I want to use it consciously and spiritually. When I play it as a musician or share it as an artist, or when you as a listener share it with others, I want the music to be a positive experience.
